Today, I celebrate my 24th birthday! I celebrated this past weekend with friends (slideshow below) and it was amazing!
Birthday Celebration
Each year, I learn more about myself – how to love, protect, and empowerment myself for my self. And it was apparent how much I have grown, mentally. I’m tremendously proud of it and my progress; I’m humbly grateful – more grateful than I could ever say, but I know there’s so much more to accomplish.
Instead of a traditional goals post, I decided to find what my 24 means! Last birthday, I used traits to describe how I wanted my year to go; now, I want to create themes that represent where I’m heading in life
What Does My 24 Mean?
TEAL. Colors have character traits and meanings too, so I am breaking down my favorite color. Teal represents many attributes: clarity, idealism, balance, creativity, compassion, self-sufficiency, feminine, wisdom, serenity, wholeness, patience and loyalty, according to Bourn Creative.
Different shades of blues always varied as my favorite color, but teal has stuck around for years now and it’s evident why. Though I have embraced some, these traits reflect what I want to embody, who I want to become, and stepping stones needed for more growth.
Advantage Points
- Being more intentional in what I do every day
- Brainstorming ideas for life and the blog
- Journaling and praying to bring healing and wholeness
- Gaining patience to help the things I cannot change
- SELF-CARE to bring serenity and balance
Can’t be passive any longer! I know how I want to grow; I just have to see it through.
So here’s to being TEAL, in-charge, confident, beautiful, and an UNAPOLOGETIC BLACK WOMAN. Also to a year of prosperity, hope, peace, healing, discipline, and increased opportunities.

My favorite color is orange! It definitely complaints me and shows that I’m bold, outgoing, vibrant but also very conservative!
Love the blog!
