Meet Jailyn
Hey there, I’m Jailyn – a GVSU alumna, marketing + beauty enthusiast, and Food Network lover. Thank you for visiting my website + reading my blog, The Moxie Playbook!
From a young age, I’d been enamored by fashion, beauty, and film industries. As a Detroit native, I looked to films and shows like The Devil Wears Prada, Las Vegas, and The Hills for inspiration. These individuals were so creative, unique, and equipped with their own identities outside of their work and high social profiles. Inspired by the ability of expression, creativity, and individualism, I discovered I wanted to work behind the scenes, foster relationships, and make amazing brands stand out.
After college graduation in 2015, I sought opportunities aligned with my vision and passions. With a growing clientele, my experiences are consistently molding me into the professional woman that I’ve always envisioned. There’s still much more work to do.
When I’m not blogging or working, I’m traveling, reading, watching YouTube beauty & makeup videos, or enhancing my natural hair knowledge. I live for pineapples and exploring new places and ideas. I love food + cooking, learning about professional photography, and giving back through mentoring middle school-aged girls about self-esteem and self-love.
About The Moxie Playbook
Created in 2014, The Moxie Playbook inspires, empowers, and adds moxie to womanhood. Twenty-something millennial women have this outlet to push through life’s boundaries, learn more about themselves, and gain complete joy by providing support, relatable and authentic topics.
The word “moxie” has resonated with me since my freshman year of college. It means to have “energy, pep, know-how, determination, and courage.” I want to create and encourage a lifestyle around it. Topics will include lifestyle, beauty and skincare, my personal life’s journey, and fashion.
