Rory “RJ” Marshall, M.A is a passionate leader and author. He is committed to making a positive impact through literacy and guidance. He functions as a relevant millennial voice to his community.
RJ oversees RM Innovations, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in personal and organizational development. The firm has released three of his books: Reset: 21 Days of Focus (2018), What Do You See? When Reality Meets Perception (2015), and What Do You See? 31 Days of Transformation (2014). Additionally, he teaches an online course to help individuals discover, dream, and develop for their future, called DevelopMEnt Academy.
RJ holds a Bachelor of Arts in International and Community Development from Oral Roberts University and a Master’s degree in Urban Christian Ministries from Trinity International University.
RJ, his wife, Kristan, reside in Chicago, IL with their daughter, McKenzie.

SOCIAL WRAP-UP: Jo the Giant
Since December 2017, EYCO. Agency has handled client Jo the Giant’s Instagram account. We conducted a brand audit, created a social strategy and plan to find out the exact goal we needed to accomplish. Up until now, we’ve been able to make a difference in the client’s social media engagement and brand.
Here’s a snapshot of what we were able to capture!
Our Goals:
- Create a style aesthetic with mood invoking and color focused pictures; Instagram Story with captions.
- Share stories, testimonies, and information about who Jo the Giant is.
- Increase engagement and awareness by 10%.
- Post photos 2-3x a times day.
What We Achieved:
- Engagement and followers increased by 20%.
- A clean aesthetic layout completely changed to color-focused photos.
- Shared quotes and inspirational messages from hashtags, like #WordsfromtheGiant, #MorningCupofJo, and #CupofJo to invoke followers’ moods.
- Posted 3 times a day for maximum exposure and engagement within following.

EVENT RECAP: Magic Bubbles Making with Mrs. Ashlee + Genius Patch’s Read & Play
On Friday, December 30, Genius Patch hosted their last Read & Play workshop of 2017 at Our Little Big World in Ferndale, MI. Filled with story-telling and an interactive experiment, Mrs. Ashlee vibrantly led the group of six children to learn about one of her books, “Niko and the Trouble Bubble.” This book served as the theme for the day’s event by incorporating science aspects of what a bubble is made of. Mrs. Ashlee started reading the book aloud first while continuously asking questions and making sure the little genius’ knew what was going on from the shapes, colors, and words.
Next, Mrs. Ashlee and the children transitioned into an activity – a magic bubble experiment, which tied in with the book. The children read parts of the book before guessing what ingredients were needed to make the magic bubbles. The trick to blowing bubbles on the table is also adding the solution to a surface, so the bubbles have something to stick to.
All activities encouraged interaction and subject learning.
While this event focused on science, Mrs. Ashlee managed to alternate subjects between her three published books.

Reintroducing Social Tea to Millennials with Tealing & Co.’s Modern Tea Experience
DETROIT, MICHIGAN – In celebration of two years in business and commitment to reintroducing social aspect of tea, Tealing & Co. will host the MTE: Modern Tea Experience. This event will take place in Downtown Detroit at the Garden Theater on Thursday, October 19th, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.
MTE’s main event is three signature tea-infused cocktails pairings, which will feature tea blends from the upcoming Fall collection. The event will also feature strolling unlimited tea party-inspired hors-d’oeuvres, dessert table inspired by quaint, Parisian tea parties, and local musical artists.
Owner LaVonne Ellis began Tealing & Co. – a Detroit based premium tea company – to relieve stress, but it grew into a passion and a movement. Ellis wanted tea lovers to enjoy social tea, but not in an average way.
“While traveling in Europe a couple of years back, I was inspired by the social aspect of tea amongst locals. I wanted to introduce this social component and bring a unique experience to Detroit for tea lovers to enjoy and bond over,” said Ellis.
Tickets for Modern Tea Experience are $40 and are final sale and non-transferable. Guest must be 21 years or older to attend and must present identification.
