I feel I’ve been away from my blog too long. I haven’t been motivated to write posts, which is normal. But the great thing about it, though, is the fact I never stressed about it like I usually would. I let it flow and figured out other things in the meantime.
Catch Up
Now, I feel somewhat ready again – having tons of topics and ready to write – to bring more content to you all. It feels great typing this now, so I know worrying about minor details of weekly posts are irrelevant.
So let’s play catch up! Let’s talk about what I’ve been up to and everything in between.
What I Finished Reading…
- Gabrielle Union’s We’re Going to Need More Wine. I WAS NOT ready for the stories she told in this book, but I’m so glad she did. Her raw, realness personality hooked me through every word, line, and chapter. Take away from the book: be bold and own up to what you’ve done! If you haven’t read it yet, please do!
What I’ve Been Doing…
- Learning how to be a mentor to a middle-schooled age girl, which is so far a struggle for me, but I’m trying.
- Taking care of myself – mentally and physically – more and in the moment. After coming back from both trips, my body decided to randomly hit a wall – figuratively – weeks after it was over. Last week was recovery week, and I feel better already.
What I’m Loving…
- This new perspective I’m gaining – mind over matter – and learning how to do what it is my heart desires. I’m going to conquer one thing this week that’s been on my mind heavy, so pray for me!
- I can’t stop listening to Trevor Jackson’s Rough Drafts, Part 1 & Chloe x Halle’s The Kids Are Alright albums. Here’s my favorites – I couldn’t give y’all just one.
- Rough Drafts favorites: “My House,” “Think They Know,” “Broken Hearted,” “Night Time,” “Right Now,” “Apocalypse,” and “Unpacking.”
- The Kids Are Alright favorites: “Hello Friend (Intro),” “The Kids Are Alright,” “Grown,” “Hi Lo,” “Happy Without Me,” “Down,” “If God Spoke,” and “Baptize (Interlude).”
What’s Up Next…
- I’m taking a quick trip up to my alma matter for a few things this weekend, including a proper campus photoshoot I never got to do for graduation.
- Working on blog posts for the upcoming weeks – let me know if y’all anything specific.
- Balancing work assignments with my both freelance contracts, which includes assisting on an event, social media, and content work.
