School is finally here. While I’m happy to get closer to finishing out my undergrad studies, I am a little nervous about getting out in the real world. With enjoying last week’s Welcome Week event, spending my summer helping incoming Freshmen pick their own schedules, and mentally preparing myself, I think I’m ready for this year. This time next year, I will be writing a goal for goals of my final semester.
Semester Goals
Proactive Studying
My studying habits are not the best; I’ll admit. Procrastination, sometimes, is my best friend. I hate myself in the end for it but this year, things will be totally different. So far, I have notebooks for each class, colored pens for note-taking, my iPad, highlighters, sharpies, and a planner.
I plan to:
- Set days + times to read, study + complete assignments for each of my four classes.
- Go above + beyond to complete work ahead of time.
- Get a 3.5 GPA or better to increase cumulative GPA
Get Organized
To complete these goals, I have to keep organized. My planner will serve as my guide to everything I need to know, between assignments, events, and meetings. Everything will have a place where it will be found and neatly placed back. I plan to:
- Enter in all important dates into my planner during the first week of classes.
- Organize my desk area to set up a workspace.
NETWORK + Involvement
With only having one more semester left after this year, the time is now to network. Between keeping all the connections made in the summer and making new ones, I become more involved.
I plan to:
- Go to more professional events + meetings.
- Join two more organizations in addition to my current two.
Study Abroad
This summer, I decided to study abroad next year in London, England. This has been one of the most exciting decisions I have made this far. I am looking forward to seeing what can happen to me during this trip.
I plan to:
- Get more details on the program, the country, + life on traveling outside of the States
- Apply soon!
- Save, save, save!!!
My expectations for this year are HIGH. I feel even more comfortable than before to start this year off. I started off this year by being completely open + honest with friends, expectations, + feelings. The connections I have made with other students here are amazing. I’m excited to see what this semester has in store for me, + of course, I will keep you guys updated!
What are your semester goals? Share them via the comments section or Twitter. I would love to hear them.

Love these goals, especially the first set! I definitely need to do my work way ahead of time. I’m all for getting that planner too! My planner/calendar(s) are everything. My whole life is in those!
I hope you study abroad too! I’m hoping to study in Paris for the spring and then country hop! Great post!

I wish I had studied abroad when I was still in school! I’m not sure why I never tried harder to make it happen. I think I was too afraid back then.

I was afraid too until my summer job stressed the importance of studying abroad. I wish I would’ve made my decision sooner.
Hopefully from your blogging + vlogging, you get an opportunity SOON to travel to various countries.
Thanks again for the stock photo.

Great goals! I love how they’re all realistic! I studied abroad this past summer for two weeks and it was probably the best decision I’ve made my entire four years at undergrad
One of my main goals is to SAVEEE! Before my senior year is over I plan to have a car, and enough money for my first months rent!

Thank you! That’s what I keep hearing about studying abroad. I cannot wait to start the process.
Yess, put those goals into existence. Those are great. Keep me updated with the process.
