Oh, how I miss Spring Break already, (and it’s only been one day). I spent my time, not on a vacation, but doing homework, spending quality time with family and boyfriend, working, and trying to catch up on movies and sleep. Another thing I’ve made more time for – workouts.
Going to the gym has always been a love/hate relationship for me; I love the results but hate the process and pain. Since my body will not stay fit on its own and summer vacations planned, it’s time that I get in the gym + put in work!I’m learning now exercise doesn’t have to very painful or long. Here are three simple points I have done to make working out easier:
Positive Mindset
Before you can start seriously working out, you have to believe you can do it. Willpower and self-confidence are important when it comes to fitness; these factors can motivate you to reach your goal. Your mind talks you out of the workout before your body does.
Set goals to fight negativity – whether it’s to lose pounds, walk without shortness of breath, or just for yourself. Set tangible goals with an end date frame to help your mind realize that this is something you can do. Once you determine these goals, the next task to accomplish is consistency with routine.
Nightly Dedication
I do not believe in staying at the gym for hours to produce great work. My high school dance teacher was adamant about my class doing 100 crunches in class and at night. If I would have kept the same mindset, life would be a little easier now!
A few crunches a night and other moves (found on Pinterest!) helps me work out without having to leave my room. It does not take long to produce a great workout; floor and standing exercise, yoga and stretching are all great workouts, which can take 15 minutes to an hour.
Hydrate
Before or after workouts, and whenever I can, I love to make smoothies. Fruit smoothies are my favorites and help me think I am getting the necessary intake of fruits for the day.
I use my NutriBullet blender to dump veggies (spinach/kale) and fruits (frozen/fresh), such as strawberries, pineapples, and bananas into the cup, and liquids (water/orange juice). I make the recipe up as I go depending on how I feel and the ingredients I have.

Lovely post! My spirit is moving on an upward swing with the season. Constant practice and setting a loving intention go a long way when I get in tune with my body. I don’t like the word exercise, Lol.

Thank you for reading, Shanti. Getting consistent is the hardest part, but will be most rewarding. I’m so happy it’s warming back up! Lol

Seems like ya ready lol. I’ve been slowly cleaning out my closet and such. Getting my spring cleaning on. My goal is to have as less as possible this year and more time doing things that fuel my passions.
