Vision boards are the new craze at the beginning and end of each year. These boards inspire and encourage individuals to follow their dreams and passions in a visual way. Photos, words, and quotes from magazines, newspapers make vision boards come to life. While some have themes, others are posted pictures individuals feel are important in + for their lives.
Vision Boards
I’ve been creating vision boards for at least three years now. Earlier this month, I attended a vision board party. I must say every singular picture and word are in the direction I want my life to go in, but also in alignment.
Though you create a board for the upcoming year, each year’s board is a synced version of the one before it. They are created to all work together. An example from 2017 board was a new car. While I wished it could’ve happened, I’ve learned to be patience, care for what I have, and how to save in preparation for it.
And the visions on your board may not all come true at once, you should strive to gain qualities from it to grow from. Another example of the 2017 board included the phrase “Life in Balance.” This year hasn’t been balanced for me, but it allows me to know everything is working for my good. It allows me to keep patience and keep moving in the direction God is placing me in.
2018 Vision
In preparation for 2018, here is my board – my most true, proudest board yet. I’m grateful and pumped to see how far it will take me.
I love an overlapping board. I made sure to fit as much as possible for maximum potential for growth. The main themes I aim to put on my board are personal, professional, hobbies, and passions. Filled with inspirational people and quotes, motivation, hair, beauty, and things to work on for the new year, I feel this is my best board to date.
Never let unfinished goals let you down or make you feel unaccomplished. Maybe the timing is wrong or it just isn’t for you, yet. Keep working – figure out if it is what you are doing or how you are doing. Changes are good; I’m still learning this, but it’s becoming more and more easier to adapt to changes as soon as they happen. Though it’s a plan, God has the final say. Be ready to put in the work to make it all happen and see where it goes from here.
Tips
- Try to do it all in one sitting. It’s easier and you’ll have a clearer vision of what is needed on the board.
- Have all of your pictures together and cut out first, the layout on the board for direction, then start the assembly process.
- Have food on hand – this, more than likely, will be an all-day project.
- Be true, honest, and intentional with your heart’s content and what YOU want. Don’t worry about what others may put on their board if you are doing it in a group.
- After you create your board, write down each thing you put on your board and a short description of how you are going to manifest it. Keep it somewhere – in a journal or private online document – where you can see and remind yourself daily.
- Example: there is a street view picture of Cuba on my board, I wrote in my journal travel outside the country, which will happen come February.
Created Yours Yet?
If you’ve created your vision board already, tweet me a picture.
If you plan on making it soon, let me know your process of how you plan on getting it done. We can all learn from each other and grow in areas we may have not paid attention to.

Surprisingly I’ve never created a vision board, but I can proudly say that I’m in the process of creating one for 2018. The past years, I’ve written a letter to myself about where I am and what I expect for the upcoming year. Then I open it and read it the following year to see how far I’ve grown.

I love creating vision boards. I have a blank page notebook that I use to create vision collages based on any projects I want start, and goals for my life. It especially came in handy when I was planning my wedding lol I’ll definitely take some of your tips on trying to do it all in one day. I usually work on it passively over a few days. Thanks for sharing!

I love this. We actually created our vision boards on Monday. It was my first one and it made me feel so good to complete one. I love this post and appreciate you sharing your board. I’m about to tweet you the ones my husband and I made now.

I haven’t done a vision board but I do write out my plans for the year. I don’t think I’ve ever done it.
