This past weekend, I had the pleasure in attending The Breaking Conference 3.0 presents BRAVE x BRKN in Chicago, IL. It "was created to equip women, ages 18-40, with spiritual and practical tools and strategies to help them along their purpose journeys. This third installment of The Breaking Conference will focus on the theme #BRAVEandBRKN, exposing attendees to transparent testimonies and conversations to provoke thought, ignite passion, and push them to be brave in the areas of careers, relationships, and callings."
Along with the powerful stories and gems dropped throughout the day, there was also an opportunity for vendor shopping. So if y'all didn't know by now, you should definitely know now that I absolutely love a matte liquid lipsticks. I couldn't pass up going to the table and at least checking out their table. I enjoy trying new brands + colors, and the one I bought DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT!
Today starts my 7-day cruise vacation! This will be my first time traveling outside of the U.S. - and no, Canada doesn't count because it's around the corner from us here - and first cruise, so I'm excited to see what's in store.
Family and friends know I am a meticulous, early, and heavy packer, like crazy bag lady packer. I tend to start packing 2-4 weeks before to make sure I have everything I need and are in order. But this time around, it's been the complete opposite. I finished packing two days before leaving and still had errands like crazy the day before.
For this trip, I only shopped for essentials, like toiletries and flip flops. I surprisingly had enough clothes I liked to not buy new ones, which somewhat sucked lol. Below, I'm going to talk about how I pack my essentials to ensure everything is in place, so expect to see multiple bags and components - remember bag lady.
This past weekend, I celebrated Bre’s 25th birthday. Her family + friends have been planning it for months. Since I knew about all of the festivities, I wanted to make sure my skin looked and felt right. That hasn't been the case lately, so I decided to lay off the makeup from Christmas to that weekend. To help my skin more, I started using an oil serum to get my dark marks and pores in order. Leading up to the weekend, I could tell the difference the product has been making - I’ll do a review on it soon.
When I tell y’all I was ready to put on makeup, I was too hype. I missed the process of applying it and having it on. My goal is always a natural look; I use the same process every time, products may change though. I’m not into contouring, eyelashes (I don't mind them every once in awhile), or highlighting (even though I wish I knew how to place it better on my face.)
These looks below are very similar but the methods and lip colors changed. For Friday's dinner, I stayed casual and added a neutral lip with Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bomb. For Saturday night, the makeup application stayed the same but I spiced it up with switching the concealer and adding a bold lippie.

The beauty market expands more and more each day. With over 100+ brands to choose from, it can sometimes be overwhelming to choose what will work, especially with beauty tools like make-up brushes and sponges. A brush, sponge, or other types of applicators are needed for different products, such foundation, concealer, highlighter, eyeshadow, and more.
I started seriously doing my make-up in 2015, learning how to get a good beat before my college graduation. So I am no expert; i’m just a girl who loves and has a huge fascination over makeup. It started with YouTube (one of the BEST ideas ever), product buying, and trial and error.
I want to share my top tools for how I apply my foundation, concealer, powder, and eyeshadow - pretty much the only products I wear needing tools (conturing isn’t for me YET, but baby steps.) This is not a sponsored post; I purchased all of the tools, from stores like Ulta, Sephora, Target, and Marshalls, and love how they work for me. All photos of the tools are at the end of this post.
