This week has been the worst week ever, or at least in the top three. From having a minor meltdown and being on assignment overload to the paper I finished 30 minutes before class vanishing, I decided it's time to really get my life together.
I dedicated most of the past weekend to homework and catching up on shows to keep my sanity. I thought I was going into this week ahead of schedule, but senior year is becoming more challenging.
Through it all, I realized I bounced back by smiling, laughing + a plan every time. Yes I wanted to cry and give up, but that would not solve my problems. Jhene Aiko’s “W.A.Y.S” put everything into perspective last night. Some things happen that you cannot control, but you have to smile through it. Smile + a sense of humor can make everything better. Anger and frustration takes up too much energy.
In the words of Aaliyah, “And if at first you don't succeed, then dust yourself off and try again.” That class session is usually is for peer edits for that tactic/paper; I regrouped + gain feedback on my topic to formulate a plan. Dwelling in negativity will make you feel less confident. Find the motivation to get through it. When the motivation hits, write that plan + follow through.
I know this was a test to push my potential. There's a blessing in every situation + problem; what will yours tell you? Tweet me, @JailynGlass, to share your week's news (good + bad).
Happy Friday + Super Bowl weekend!
School is finally here. While I'm happy to get closer to finishing out my undergrad studies, I am a little nervous about getting out in the real world. With enjoying last week's Welcome Week event, spending my summer helping incoming Freshmen pick their own schedules, and mentally preparing myself, I think I'm ready for this year. This time next year, I will be writing a goal for goals of my final semester.
So here we go, here are my semester goals for Fall 2014:

My expectations for this year are HIGH. I feel even more comfortable than before to start this year off. I started off this year by being completely open + honest with friends, expectations, + feelings. The connections I have made with other students here are amazing. I'm excited to see what this semester has in store for me, + of course, I will keep you guys updated!
What are your semester goals? Share them via the comments section or Twitter. I would love to hear them.
