This week has been the worst week ever, or at least in the top three. From having a minor meltdown and being on assignment overload to the paper I finished 30 minutes before class vanishing, I decided it's time to really get my life together.
I dedicated most of the past weekend to homework and catching up on shows to keep my sanity. I thought I was going into this week ahead of schedule, but senior year is becoming more challenging.
Through it all, I realized I bounced back by smiling, laughing + a plan every time. Yes I wanted to cry and give up, but that would not solve my problems. Jhene Aiko’s “W.A.Y.S” put everything into perspective last night. Some things happen that you cannot control, but you have to smile through it. Smile + a sense of humor can make everything better. Anger and frustration takes up too much energy.
In the words of Aaliyah, “And if at first you don't succeed, then dust yourself off and try again.” That class session is usually is for peer edits for that tactic/paper; I regrouped + gain feedback on my topic to formulate a plan. Dwelling in negativity will make you feel less confident. Find the motivation to get through it. When the motivation hits, write that plan + follow through.
I know this was a test to push my potential. There's a blessing in every situation + problem; what will yours tell you? Tweet me, @JailynGlass, to share your week's news (good + bad).
Happy Friday + Super Bowl weekend!
